I'm trying to replace the blown engine in my 1997 XK8 but I can't find one with an EGR valve. Can I replace my old engine with one from the same model year that doesn't have the EGR valve?

I think so, but worst case would be transfer your intake elbow to the replacement. There was a recent thread on where is the egr located started by you. oyster in post #4 had a link to the TSB for egr delete. Did you read that?

 

Thanks for your reply. Ya I did actually I read them but I'm an old wood tick and pretty mechanically challenged. Apparently I didn't understand the TSBs. I was pretty sure I could since there was a service action to remove it but I wanted to ask the good folks on the forum just in case. I didn't know if the electronics would start acting up. Motorcarman was good enough to send me a PM and set me straight. The answer is yes. If a moderator reads this please mark it resolved.
