You will find a chart of the options by year in Nigel Thorley's excellent book You & Your Jaguar XK8.

I was actually just searching for colors too. This is a decent way I found mine:

Use the pull-down menus to select year and under "More" select color and you should find what you're looking for - I think.

Thanks guys. I know that my color, Roman Bronze, was only available in 2001. There were 4400 XK8s made that year and I am wondering how many were in Roman Bronze. I don't think the factory kept track so the info may not exist.

I've only seen 2 Roman Bronze XK8s in my local area. I do think they are pretty rare.

The list above is interesting - but apparently incomplete as it does not include the color code for my 2004 which is CHA Salsa Red. That code seems to be missing from other lists I have seen as well so I wonder if all these lists are just feeding off each other at this point and none are definitive.

 

You can absolutely guarantee the factory have a record of the precise number of each colour produced. Here's the first of three pages of the JLR Direct Dealer Warranty printout for my 2001 XK8. Paint colour and code shown boxed in red:





JLR have consistently refused to release aggegated data of paint and trim totals.

Yes, that list doesn't include Roman Bronze on the 2001, either. Nigel's book shows 15 colors for 2001. Wonder why the factory won't break it down by color? I think a demonstration is called for!
