Took a trip from Provo UT to Craig CO to see some friends. 520 miles round trip on highway 40. Elevations ranging from 4500 ft. to 6300 ft. with a maximum of over 8000 ft. by Starvation reservoir. Was not sure how accurate the avg. MPG meter was until the refill. Pretty close to the 27.2 mpg reading. I think that's pretty good myself at that elevation. I am interested in knowing how well my other Jag brothers have done MPG wise. Purred like a kitten the whole way and drove like a dream. I put a lot more time than money into this car and it seems to be paying off now. Also, once I figured out what S.W.(sub woofer) meant on the mode button on the sound system and turned it up past zero, it also sounds a lot better.

I never went over 70mph, although there was that punk kid in the mustang.

27mpg is not uncommon, which is pretty impressive for 4000lbs of car.

I see similar numbers in my R, although it has the 6spd, which helps a bit.

Sounds like you got the old girl sorted out nicely, congratulations
On road trips I get 25-26 miles per gallon (wife in car)
and 18-19 mpg (wife absent)

i got an average max 24 mpg on my last 900 mile round trip, sitting at around 85 mph (the pretty normal cruising speed in the UK) for big chunks of it i reckon - most of it using my dual fuel L.P.G. tho' sweet.

Sounds like a great trip but I have some reservations about your new hood ornament.

LOL You got my wife laughing. If i would of backed the car up a bit and laid down on my tummy I could of really pulled that illusion off.

I've gotten 29.5 mpg on the freeway by driving at 65 mph with the cruise control. City driving is miserable by comparison.

I average about 24 mpg (UK gallons). Car mostly drives back and forth to different golf courses, cruising at 85mph on freeway.

Best I ever managed was 31.4 mpg, on a 70 mile trip between 50-60 mph.

When i first got my car i was getting 21mpg and every tank full has been slowly increasing my last reading was 25.9mpg thats using www.fuelly.com and not the onboard computer as i dont trust them

i have added some bg44 to the fuel, changed the tyres and tensioners and new rear shocks so i suppose thats all helping my mpg

I actually trust the reading. after several old school refill calculations(pump until it stops-Drive-Pump until it stops-Divide). When I said old school, I meant that I learned to type in high school on a manual typewriter using carbon paper for a copy. Have you seen where I left walker young fella.

i no i no but I'm sure car computers give false readings well thats my experience with them. i prefer to have a list of all my fill ups its quite a good website and is very interesting seeing what your spending.
