Default First Road Trip

Well it seems like a good time to take my newly acquired XK8 on a run.

So me and the better half are leaving from home in Essex back home to Paisley in Scotland about 450 miles to se family and friends.

I have done a service and a few other bits since I got her so looking forward to trouble free run, although forecast for Scotland is grim/normal for this time of year.

I'll say "enjoy the trip" although I find the slog in the opposite direction from the North East of England down to the Channel a tedious experience on our overcrowded and rarely fully open motorways.

I hope your XK8 performs faultlessly and don't forget to post photos.

Well Trip went without a hitch, barring a whistle from passenger side door at speeds over 65-70mph.
Barring the naff weather, rained every day except the day we left?

Done about 1100mls trip says average 37mpg I reckon about 35, so not much worse then when we once used the wife's 2003 1.6 civic, great little car but crap on motorway spinning way too high rpm.
One thing I need to get done is the reach motor, it is in near dash and just a tad too far away for my short arms.

Good to hear the trip went without incident.

That's extraordinary mpg. I keep fuel purchase and mileage records for all my vehicles and my 2005 XK8 averaged 21.65 mpg (Imperial gallon).
