Talking This Forum is Amazing...

A general thanks to all who put together the FAQs and those who post the stickies to help those less fortunate get their problems diagnosed and fixed without costly (time, money and frustration) diagnosis that lead nowhere...

A specific thanks to sgtof marines1775 for his comprehensive pics and instructions allowing my mechanic to quickly to replace the brake switch.

This Forum is amazing...

Default Thanks for the forum, Brutal and everyone else.

Agreed. Since I purchased my 2002 XK8 in May 2010, this great forum has helped me with the following shade tree projects:

Replaced fuel filter
Replaced serpentine belt
Cleaned thottle body
Replaced spark plugs
Painted brake calipers (red)
Repaired cup holder
Repaired leather seats
Replaced one back-up sensor
Cleaned sensors on 4 wheels and (discovered front 8" wide wheels were
mounted on rears and rear 9" were on the fronts.)
Programed homelink
Cleaned entire engine and bay with WD40 and took Best in Show in Class at a local car show.
Replaced and/or added the following Mina Gallery items; Mesh grill, dash bezel rings (6), gear shift chrome surround.
Repaired sport mode switch
Changed oil and filter
Found and greased the rear suspension fittings

Hood liner and Mina exhaust are probably next.

Thanks to all of you for your help, I never could have done it without you.

On behalf of all the knowledgable members and excellent techs out there who give of their time freely....thank you for voicing your appreciation

Its all about passing it forward though, and the hope is that one day you guys will be the knowledgable / senior members passing on what you've learned here and picked up there too!

Errr I kinda forgot to add my thanks to the mods who also do a great job of keeping the forum clean n free of for all to use, as well as making sure it stays one of the friendliest sites around too.
No doubt about it, the mods rock

If not for this website I probably would have gotten disgusted with the car and disgusted with the cost of paying for dealer repairs. The issues I've had with the car have been minor and easily fixed, but I wouldn't have had a clue where to start without the great advice I've gotten in jaguarforums. The ASC issue alone could have cost me over $1000 at the dealer. I love this place!

Amazing, thank you!

This is by far the most usable and organized of all the other Jaguar-oriented forum sites out there. I have frequented various other forums for cars I have owned and for car brands that I wanted to find out more about and those forums were generally well organized and easy to navigate. When it comes to many/most of the other Jaguar forums out there they frankly seem like they are using outdated forum software and consequently are very user unfriendly.

Something over two and a half years ago I was fascinated with the XK8 but scared silly with all the discussion of 'issues' with the cars. After two months of lurking I couldn't stand it any more and bought one. Without all the friends on this forum I would have never been in a Jaguar.

Now I spend as much time on the forum as I do with the car.

Nice one Danster but that means you should have more posts, so stop lurking and start posting more
