I was having the usual ABS TRAC ASC errors with my 2000 XK8. I realized that I needed a code reader and bought a AUTEL 619. Of course I was not sure it would work but I plugged it in and it read not only ABS but standard OBD and Jaguars factory unique codes. Plus I was able to clear OBD codes with no problems. It works!

 

Did you get the ML619 or the AL619 ?

Please share your personal experience about the Autel AL619 scanner tool. I am thinking to buy. Want to get some user feedback about this scanner.

 

I had a Innova code reader that worked well on OBD codes. However I started to develop ABS errors and the Innova could not read the codes. I had the ABS module rebuilt but the errors kept occurring. I realized that trying to guess what the problem was and trowing parts at it was not the way to go. I did some research and picked up the Autel tool on eBay. Plugged it into the Jag and went through the menu for the ABS system which included manufacturer and VIN entry. The reader gave me the code and description for front left bad sensor. Pulled the wheel, adjusted the air gap and ABS problems solved.

i don't recall the price I paid but its seems on eBay they ranged fro $55 up to over $100. As far as air bag on then CAN based messages no experience with that yet. My exact model is the Autel Autolink AL619. My car is a 2000 XK8.
