how do you raise the drivers window with dead battery
Thank you for your reply. Much appreciated. Unfortunately we are leaving the XK in a location that does not allow me the time or opportunity to jump or get new battery until we return. Trying to recharge with cute charger, hopefully will charge before we leave. By door cards do you mean door interior side panels? Do you remove them and there is a crank? Sounds like a lot of effort.
Sorry but unless you change the battery or jump, no other method will get the window closed any quicker. Removing the card and winding up the window by hand will take about 30 minutes or more.
Welcome to the forum WRPDRYV,
Please post an intro in the new members section when you can.
Ctek is the tender of choice, there is no crank behind the door card.
When are you leaving?

Thanks for the welcome. Leaving in approximately 15 hours. I hope it will charge by then. Hoping it's not an altogether bad battery. Never had this problem before and not sure what caused it to discharge.
+1 on phanc60844, but if you were to disconnect the motor inside the door you'd have to reconnect it with window raised. It wouldnt stay up on its own.
Partner, your only viable option is to get 12volts to the window motor. Can't you jump the battery from another battery (in a car or not)? Car does not need to start. IOW, you can close window with partial charge.
You have no access to window motor power cable that I know of without taking off door card.
Friend take this very seriously: hands GO NOWHERE NEAR inside of door while motor is co nected to a live battery.. More than enough leverage to amputate your fingers when moving unexpectedly, by accident, or intentionally.

Hello all...will a ctek 3300 bring a discharged battery to full charge or is it strictly for maintenance?
After several hours of charging, no progress. Does this indicate a totally/mostly dead battery?
Also, is the "snowflake" setting a better one than the "automobile icon" setting?
Many thanks.
Cheers

How do you plan to leave your present location? Walking would seem to be the only mode of transport which doesn't have a battery that could be used for jumping the XK8.
