This picture is of a 1999 XK8 non-TC fuel rail. As we can see in this photo, a rubber hose connects the left side of the fuel rail to the right side. Has anyone ever tried to splice into this rubber hose to install a T-fitting for a fuel pressure gauge? If a 1/8" NPT T-fitting can be spliced in, it would be much easier than trying to rig up a combination of AN fittings, a Schrader valve fitting, and various NPT adapters to the Schrader valve on the fuel rail, to just end up with a Rube Goldberg way of attaching the fuel pressure gauge to the fuel rail.
So you're driving along, and the car just dies, and your first thought is WTF. If it's a fuel-feed problem, the fuel pressure gauge will tell you. I do all my work on my cars, so that's why.
I don't know?
When I do this type of work my fuel pressure gauge plugs right into the Schrader fitting? No adapters needed?
Mine has a longer rubber hose and I run that out the backside of the hood and tape the gauge to the windshield so I can read it.
It might be easier to use Torque Pro or some other type of scanner and just read the fuel pressure electronically?
Have you tried that?

Yes, I used something similar the other day when I was checking fuel pressure.
The 4.0 cars don't have a fuel pressure sensor, so it can't be read electronically.
