Default Hardtop for cabriolet?

Saw a few pictures of a hardtop on an xk convt on a couple of sites (Eurotek for sure in their running gallery.) Anyone out there know who produces this item? Appears to be a dramatic way to stick out from the crowd. Thanks.

Got to admit I do like the hard tops for the cabrios, now if you could just motorise it and fold it away into the boot then you really would be getting somewhere

It's made by Arden and is ungodly expensive.

jaxkr, thanks for the big pic. I think this looks pretty slick for cold weather driving.

So, for about $10k + $600 for paint + $700 for shipping = $11,300

It seems like a lot, but is it? Body kits delivered here can run up to $6,000.
But, bodykits, are not that uncommon.

If you bought this top, you could drive 30k mi/yr for ten years here in the states,
and never see any other Jag, old or brand new that would look quite like yours.
That has to be worth the premium.

Hey, anybody up for a group buy?

(So, is Arden a German company or a British company?)

The top comes painted & with the headliner trimmed in leather. I have had the top now for about 7 years now, & it is like having 2 totally different cars.

When I purchased the top it was not that much money. The top is secured in the front by using the claw, you just release the pressure & draw it down. In the back you mount 2 brackets to the convt top assy & it just latches into them. The brackets stay on the car all year so the top takes about 15 minutes to install, there are trims to be removed & I found you need to secure the rear windows so they don't rattle as well as lubing the seals on the top. The heated rear window is fully functional also. You open the trunk as there is a trim panel on the back that is held down similar to the sof top boot, then just lay the top on & latch it.

You got to think when Jaxkr bought his XK, from which I am assuming the car was either new or close to it probably cost $50K or if new double that (I could be very wrong as I am guessing), the point I am getting at, if you want bespoke it costs and the Arden top is very well made and one of the only things they do I actually really like a lot.

So lets assume as Jaxkr has said he did not pay that much, so probably only a 1/10 of the value, that is not a big ask IMO.

Exclusivity costs but the feeling of pride knowing you probably have the only one is priceless and the basis of all modification companies to a large degree. I can not think of anything worse than spending a large chunk of money just to have another guy pull up next to you in exactly the same car
