He cropped up on a thread on muggings in Spain saying he was currently there and had never felt in any danger of being mugged.
Should we start organising a collection?

Steve,

I'm back home again. The only mugging was the fuel cost to drive the 1752 miles from Gibraltar to Durham in two days! Could have reduced the mileage but took a diversion to one of our favourite restaurants near Saumur in the Loire Valley for lunch.

Have read a few threads and posted to the one about the dangers of driving in Spain but internet access was patchy where we were staying up in the mountains near Ronda.

Looks like there's plenty of post reading to catch up on.

We stopped at Bordeaux for the night on the way back but I didn't think you'd appreciate a call at 11:30!

Thanks - I really must check up on internet access before choosing my next holiday destination.

I think it would be nice to go somwhere with no internet access, I'm sure I'd change my mind when I got there!
I remember being in the back of beyond not so many years ago when making a 'phone call or sending a fax was an achievement.

Thanks Jim,

Long distances on uncluttered roads - you can be sure I enjoyed it.

That would be when you collected the XK8 and we didn't hear from you for 3 days?

No, that was Vegas, I'm told you can get anything in Vegas, even internet.

What you can't get is checked into a hotel quickly at 1 in the morning!
