I was wondering if my hood is aluminum on my 1999 XK? I have a couple of dings and didn't want to take it to just anyone for repair if the hood is an uncommon material for the typical ding Dr?

 

It is steel. The later x150 made extensive use of aluminum, but our x100 is steel bodied.

 

Unless you're English (or Scottish). Then it's canvas.

Got caught in the hail here. The local ding doctors had no problem making it look new again.

 

Jag#4 looks like your in the area do you have a Ding Dr you would recommend. I just hate to try any if these fly by night hail repair places. Thanks.

 

I think most of them learned their trade from the ad on the back of a book of matches, so I picked mine the scientific way...it was one I pass every day on the way home from work.

However they did a decent job and I was satisfied. Their "free detail" was more like a quick rinse off with a hose out back, but the body work was very acceptable and cost me zero dollars.
