Default How to remove wiper arms

How do you remove the wiper arms? I have removed the nut from under the covers but I can't get the wiper arms to budge. I have tried the wipers straight out against the windshield and them bent up and still can't get them to pull off. I don't want to damage the plastic cowl at the base of the windshield. I want to remove the wipers so I can remove that plastic piece and paint it.

Any help would be appreciated...

A simple 2 jaw puller from your local auto supply store will pop it out easily.

+1. I had the same problem and had to invest in a puller to get them to budge.

Garage blaster, wiggle n pull straight up while doing it. I had the same trouble and refused to buy the puller thing. Mine was rusted badly, most on the entire car.
