Default I wish I'd bought the convertible now

Back in December/January when I was hunting for my XKR, I thought the coupé was the better choice: cheaper to buy & insure, lighter, better handling, vandal-proof roof, etc.

However, it's been really warm & sunny over here in France for the past week and I have been using my Mazda MX5 instead to make the most of the rays.

Should've bought the XKR convertible

I'll lend you my angle grinder, and we can fix that roof real fast. Or this is your excuse to own two Jags!

Or you can send me your XKR Frog, and then buy a convertible. I think we can all agree it's the best solution.

Default I wish...

I hadn't used my wife's need for a car as the excuse to get our convertible. Now she won't let me drive it...

I can understand your change of heart. I sold my last convertible about seven years ago and had been aching for a replacement. I considered a 308/328, Mondial (just couldn't talk myself into accepting a Mondial as a Ferrari - stylistically) or even a NSX targa.

I guess what I'm getting at is, no matter what, only a convertible gives you that extra level of enjoyment. I'd drive a beater seven months/year in order to drive a convertible. (thankfully I don't have to...)

Aw, just hand it of to XKRacer. Give him a couple of weeks and 10 to 20 thousand quid and he'll return a one-of-a kind conversion. Piece of cake.

(Of course, I'm kidding, but I'll bet he could do it - might cost a little more than 10 or 20 K though.)

Cheers,

I would wager xkracer could do a vert for 10,000 quid. Who knows, he may have already in the past?!?
