as I am still very close to my first XKR: what is the meaning of that decal in the engine bay / LH:


Is this an option list with serial numbers? Who can decode it?

European Type Approval codes for various components. E11 is the identifier for UK. Superseded by UK(NI) Type Approval Scheme since 1st January 2021.

You could spend a lot of time finding out what each individual code represents ........... and be extremely disappointed that it adds little or nothing to your knowledge of the vehicle.

The vin plate is more interesting ..you will find you cannot tow with it .

 

Which of course is identical to the European version, although UK(NI) cars can only be sold in the UK (Great Britain and Northern Ireland). Then of course there is also the GB type approval, which is only valid in Great Britain but not Northern Ireland or the EU.
