Default I'm Back! (just to sell my nav unit display)

Howdy, Y'all! Long time no see. I sure miss fiddling with the Jag. The ugly Saab convertible I bought isn't really bringing me any joy. No one turns their head to look as I drive by. No one stops me in the parking lot to ask about my car. Women don't offer to trade me "favors" for a ride. Road trips seem less adventurous. It's a dull car. I'll be buying another XK8 (or maybe even an R!) before too long.

Anyway... I was in the garage the other day and I saw the navigation display from my XK8 sitting there on the shelf. I have no need for it, so I thought I'd put it on eBay. Here's a link to the listing: Jaguar XK8 XKR 2000 2006 Navigation GPS Display Screen Part LJD2440AC | eBay

I know, I know... there's another forum for that. But how many of you actually read the "PRIVATE For Sale / Trade Classifieds" forum? There's only 1 person viewing it right now, and there are 62 people viewing this forum! If the mods want to move this thread, I guess I can't stop them. But c'mon... at least let it stay here for a day or three.

By the way, most of my videos have thousands of hits now. The wheel speed sensor video has 5000 hits! The fuel pump video has 6000! The tranny fluid video has 24,000 hits! I think some of those hits must be from other sources because that transmission is used in many different cars. In total, my videos have had 160,000 views! If I had a nickle...

Oh... that would only be $8000. If I had a dollar...

Oh yeah... I also had 6 convertible resistors and connectors left over that I never assembled. I soldered everything together a week or two ago and I'll sell them for $30 each if it's something that anyone is still interested in. Yes... I know. I was selling them for $20 before, but I was making zero money like that. I'm not really trying to make money on them, I just don't want to lose any.

Hurry back Sam, when you get that next Jag. As I have an XK, may I recommend that car as your next Jag experience. That way the videos will be more relevant to my situation.

Yeah Sam, do hurry back and stay with the XK8/R series. I'm ready for new videos.

Besides if you change model series what are the odds that you'll be able to capture another low flying bird for your avatar?

I know, right? That was an amazing bit of lucky timing. I wasn't even trying to make it happen. I just happened to snap the pic as that bird flew by. It's even going in the right direction and everything.

If it had been about 3 inches lower and 6 inches forward, it would look like it was painted on the door.

Not that I'm trying to influence your choice, but if you get an R, just think how many hits you would get for a video of you installing a twin screw.

I have a confession to make - I watch it once a week instead of changing the fluid in mine.

Get rid of that Saab and get another proper car instead.

Aha! I'll refer people to you as inquiries arise. Let me know when they're gone and I'll stop.

Now get out there and buy an XK8/R !

Welcome back--we miss your insights and good humor!

By the way if you happen to get to the Los Angeles area and want to do a video about how to chase down a rattle in a 2005 XKR, you would be welcome.

Sam, welcome back!!! I enjoy your videos as well. I would like to buy one of your resistor assemblies for the top. I believe I sent you a PM awhile ago.

Happy to paypal, or whatever you want to take care of it.

Hello Sam, I've viewed and appreciated the vids and advice from your jag posts. I just aquired an xkr convert & need the resistor fix for reducing pressure while operating the top. I,m new poster to the forum ...will need info to communicate further in the proper fashion for this forum. Can you ship/mail to Canada? Perhaps I could get a drop box near Niagara falls, USA. I use PayPal.
Regards, Richard

I'm just one round trip first class ticket away!

OK, fine... I'll settle for coach as long as you can get me an exit row seat. I'm 6'4" and I need my legroom. I used to have to fly back and forth between Raleigh and Sacramento a couple of times a month, and I DESPISED sitting in coach.

Great to see you back.
Are you sure those resistors work as well as a pressure relief valve ?

Sam,
Thank You... Through the information provided in this Forum I have been able to put together 10+ XK-8 /R's. Storm "Sandy" has allowed me to obtain several vehicles, should you wish to get back in the game let me know. Thanks for all the help.
