Default Impeller Wheels

Fellas,

I have a dinged up rear wheel, 18x9 Impeller, on my 2001 XK8. Tried repairing with Scratch Dr. but not up to snuff. I've located a refurbished rim but I'm hesitant to purchase without being assured the finish matches the OEM wheel. The seller states the rim color as "bright". His other color codes include standard, medium silver, high gloss. Does anyone know how Jag referred to the original wheel color?? Many thanks!

This is the page with the wheel options from the 2001MY brochure.

All other trim items throughout the brochure have a 'colour' description somewhere in the text except for the wheels.

I can only ever recall seeing the description of 'Impeller' or 'Impeller - Chrome' for the plated alternative.

A picture for ants...

Ok, it says Impeller cast 18x9.

It doesn't say anything about colors/finish.

A 60k mile warranty isn't very reassuring now a days.

Members read posts on a variety of devices and often don't want to wait for all graphics to download.

If graphics are posted full size, it can take a long time to open a thread. Posting them as thumbnails speeds up loading time.

There are services that will rehabilitate your wheels for about $120 each. These services are not well known to the public, but all car dealers use them to repair cast wheels from curb rash type damage. The services are usually mobile traveling to various dealerships. Ask around dealerships. They all know about these services. Similar traveling services do plastic bumper cover repairs.
Example: my wife's BMW suffered from acute curb rash on both right side wheels. The rehab service did the job in about 4 hrs for $240. You cannot detect any sign of the repair. The wheels look completely undamaged, and match the pristine wheels on the left side.

I found it rather whimsical. Gotta live life in a lighthearted manner.

I agree. I had a wheel shop repair a curb rash wheel and a severely damaged (bent) one off an Audi and both came out better than new. So good, I had to do the other two remaining wheels so they matched. It was around $100 a wheel.
