Default Install speakers in rear window shelf?

Hello, I have a 2000 XK8 coupe and want to install Heppner 6x9 speakers under the rear window. I had a 1979 Camaro and had those speakers installed. The sound was absolutely beautiful. The cars are similar in body shape, but there was more room under the rear window in the Camaro and the XK8 gas tank is closer to the rear window. Any thoughts? The Heppners need to be reconditioned. Thank you. Steve

Why not fit them where the existing rear speakers are?

Thanks bladerunner919, but the sound likely would not be the same.

Might involve a bit of cutting, looks as though the only speaker cutout in the rear parcel shelf is for an 8" sub.

Thanks, woox4,

Yes, it seems it can be done. I need to get the speakers reconditioned, which is something many no longer do. I am working on it. Thanks, again.
