If I leave the top up for more than a few days, upon retraction it hangs up briefly about halfway stowed, jumps with a bang and continues. Never happens when raising the top. If I happen to exercise the top every day it never happens. I don't see the reservoir level changing that would indicate a leak of fluid out, but could air be leaking in somewhere? Time for a rebuild of the rams? If so, any suggestions of who to use? May as well change out the hoses while I'm at it? I did the check of the fittings in the green shower area a while back, found no problems but added a pressure limiter to the pump anyway.

Try a drop of oil on all the joints before messing with the hydraulics.

 

The piece of fabric under the window has a tendency to get hard also. I rub some linseed oil on it every so often, to soften it up. The same thing was happening to me, and it had nothing to do with the hydraulics. I was left scratching my head, until my son looked at it, while I was operating the top. He simply pushed that part of the top down, and the problem was solved. We tend to over think problems, because of the nature of these beautiful cars, and overlook the easy stuff. It's not just you doing it. It is all of us, who attack problems, looking at the most expensive part, because we have been programmed, by our Kitties......Best of luck......Mike
