tapped into my audio system and fitted input socket and usb power for iphone or ipod.bottem switch for antenna ..upper switch for cd or ipod.
rf modulaters are rubbish..used a cassette adaptor for a time but suffers from hum a high volume.this works 100% quality.simply switch one way cd plays as normal..switch other way ipod plays perfect..cost!!!!!£2 for cable.all others bits scavange from old computer.
5v for usb is from a redundant sat nav supply..just connect to 12v with a 2amp in line fuse solder to usb.. socked is headphone output sock reversed..bit of time to wire but worth it.

Excellent, Dennis, thank you for posting this. I would like to do the same Ipod addition that you've done. I don't have a lot of experience with audio, so if you could write up the specifics on the work, cable, plugs, etc- I (and many others) would be very grateful.
