Mmmm nice ride! Having said that - the guy I bought my XKR from now has a DB9 and he says not so much room in the fron of DB9 which is due to the V12 invading the cabin I guess. Also the ride is much harder and he would take the Jag on a long trip any day. Take the Aston and risk losing your fillings His words! Good luck with the viewing.

If I have half the chance of owning a Aston Martin, I would do it. I don't care if it is cramped, or if I lose my fillings, I would still do it.
Unfortunately, Foreign Cars Italia in Greensboro (Ferrari, Porsche, Maserati, and Aston Martin delaership) is nearly next to the Jaguar Dealership in Greensboro, and I have to drive past it every time I go there.
Maybe one day I will give in...

I purchased my long-gone 1986 Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio Spyder new from Foreign Cars Italia in Greensboro back in August 1986. They were good folks to deal with way back then. Kept that car for 6 years and 15,000 miles. Sold it because we simply didn't drive it enough to justify keeping it in the stable. It was a real looker in Alfa Red....

You're not alone. I've been looking at V8 Vantage Coupes with Manual Trans. I see that the one you're looking at is the 4.3 Liter, 05 or 06.
Actually, the Performance of the 4.3, or even the 4.7, (even with 6 Speed Manual Trans) is about the same as the your XKR.

Beautiful car and who wouldn't want an Aston? And the manual shift would be nice. Keep your Jag though, we would miss you here on the forum.
But if you can't keep both, remember you promised to ship me the XKR when you got tired of it (or at least that's what I remember). Love that car and the color combination.

Astons are almost impossibly seductive. Very hard to resist.
And DB9 prices have really come down.
Aston Martin : DB9 Base Coupe 2-Door in Aston Martin
However Astons are another clear step beyond Jaguars in terms of parts and service
availability and expense. Doubtless you know this!
Also, if you're in France the steering wheel on that one is on the wrong side
Or will you export it to India?

That is a beautiful car from the outside, no doubt.
As for the interior, well, here is the interior of a Camaro.
If your heart is longing for an Aston, then, by all means, buy one. We only live once. (or, perhaps twice, if you are James Bond and drive an Aston)

Yes, it's a 4.3, only slightly newer than my XKR. I know it's going to be a lot more expensive to run/insure, etc. but IMHO it's the best looking car ever made and I would be happy just to stare at it from inside the house. The AM dealer who is selling it is being a bit greedy on the price, however, and if I can't get him down a bit, I will be leaving it.
I will let you know

If it is sportier than your XKR and has the Aston looks (aka gorgeous), then it is indeed a no-brainer. Let us know progress and don't forget your roots here on the Jag forum.
Be interesting to see about your upkeep and maintenance costs. If they are not excessive by Jag standards, then an Aston would start to sound pretty sweet.
Too bad I'm not in Europe. Would quickly make you an offer on the XKR!
