Default Chrome plinth on XK boot

Hi Ivor, The early cars (up to about 2000 IIRC) had a colour-matched plinth. Some changed it for the later pattern which could be made to fit with a small modification. Jaguar later changed their minds and went back to the colour coded. The switch came with the new plinth, and as there was obviously no wiring already in place, the choice was either to leave it disconnected or add wiring to suit. There exists somewhere a how-to on this, although I never came across it and out of pure laziness left mine non-functional. Valet button locks the boot; the dash switch won't work until valet mode is cleared by unlocking with either the fob or black key. HTH, Mike PS apologies for the formatting: for some reason it's getting stripped today....
