As some of you know I do the odd XK modification , well I just completed this particular XK.


Jaguar XF rear light conversion and a one off diffuser design, the guy likes square pipes ..... Had fun making them fit



I had to make the fog lights (they are the slightly angled vertical lights you see between the boot/trunk lid and XF light units) from scratch. Could not get the exact same colour as the XF lights, so I tinted the light units to match my fog lights, I also tinted the high level brake light to match.



The diffuser is based loosely on the Aston DBS, the whole rear end of the car does look very Aston like which was not my intention, I just liked the XF lights and the diffuser I have a mould for doing my DB9 to DBS conversions, so I adapted it to fit.



On the whole I am pleased with the outcome


Just to finish off I detailed the engine bay up a little too, aluminium strut braces, strut caps, fluid cap set, dip stick and a few other bits n bobs, it was this XK also I fitted one of Gonzos hood liners and fitted the large R logo to, all looks good.

I absolutely LOVE the XF tail lights and fog lights! The diffuser looks good, but the rear looks a little odd to me without a bumper sticking out. Maybe it would be better on a coupe?

 

Would not surprise me at all, and it surely won't be the last either if it does. You never cease to amaze me in what you can fabricate, given an owner's 'vision'. if Gonzo's hoodliner gets that kind of publicity, I can see his orders picking up quite a bit! Please let us know if you do get published, as I don't subscribe to that magazine, nor buy one from the newstands.

Your work is quite outstanding. Rolling the sheet metal around the new tail-light opening is the work of a craftsman. The fog lights are a simple and clever adaption. The diffuser is finished looking and well executed ...however IMO i don't particularly like the straakes or "plastic" look. Thanks for sharing the pictures. I just wish you were in the US.

Excellent job, more aggressive rear end than any XK you can see . Amazing stuff, if I had to buy an XK I would go for a one like you are tackling

 

That looks amazing. I've always thought that the rear of these cars was the weak spot in their design and overall visual appeal. That mod really classes it up. You do some amazing work.

I also agree the rear was a weak point, the X100 has nice tight lines and then at the back it goes all wavey, what was all that about?

And I do like the clean, nothing sticking out look, but of course this is just me, but then again anything can be achieved

You probably won't want to answer this, but could you give us an idea of how much your customer was prepared to pay for all that bespoke work to his car? My guess: $$$$$$$

Paragon 08 style front nose cone, 08 style side sill covers, Brembo brakes, Senta wheels, XF light conversion, one off style pack rear bumper and diffuser, Cat back exhaust system, full poly bush set, lowering springs, 05 rear spoiler, side sills and spoiler blended, X150 wing vents and indicators, full body respray, silicone hose set with Mikalor clamps, supercharger and charge coolers painted, charger top plate polished, main water pipe polished, lower pulley up graded, strut caps, strut braces, fluid cap set including dip stick, bonnet under vent mesh grilles........ eerrrrrrmmm there maybe some more


But that little lot has cost him about £20K - £22K (thats about $30K for the US guys)

The price you pay for a bespoke finish I think he got it all quite cheaply
