"I've joined the club!"

I was out in L.A. racing to an appointment and get pulled over,,, Cop walks up and says to me you are about to become a member in GOOD STANDING in the "Pretigous Tailgaters Club"

I looked at him and said : I appreciate that HOWEVER my wife has me joining this club and that club,,, If it is not one social event it is another,,, Black tie this Black tie that,,, I am sick of it,,, I don't even see half the clubs I belong to,,, but I see the dues that are due each month,,, and I rambled on for about 5 minutes on that,,, and thou I take this as a compliment thank you but no thank you...
He looked at me and said slow down, have a nice day ,,,, Let me slide,,,,

Congrats--great color!! Actually the first thing I thought of when I saw the title "I've joined the club" is that someone else got the green shower. Shows you where my mind is at.

Wow, that was pretty quick...I didn't even know you were thinking about an XK8/r, was this a spontaneous purchase, or well planned? Either way, you're going to love the slight upgrade over the s-type...different cars entirely, I know, but you'll soon understand what I mean after a few months of ownership. congrats, and I too love that blue!

Congrats Norri you hit the Jackpot in Vegas!!

Now you have a winter car for Phoenix, about the only time you can put the top down without scorching the top half of yourself.

Great color. And great interior color, ivory yes, for Phoenix so when you sit down you don't scorch the bottom half of yourself.

Nice wheels too, 20" Sepangs?

Seeing those great photos inspires me to get going on the update to the '05 grill I bought from XKRjag jagxkr in Boston. I love the cleaner look of that without the rubber 'fangs'.

Moderator question, since when have we been able to see the other members names currently viewing a thread? Is this a new feature or have my eyes been going longer than I thought?

Congrats again and will look for you next time I am in the area...can't be many Cats that color combo in the area.

cheers,

jj

Congrats Norri!

Is that the "Coronado Blue" color - like the 04 portfolio? Nice front bumper too ... kinda looks like the one on MY 2006 Victory Edition.

You do get the tonneau cover, right - don't see it in your picture? If you're driving for an extended time top down, don't forget to put it on.

Grats!

Now get the Mina lower mesh grill for it. It makes it look soo much more purdy.

Great colour combination.

The front looks so much better without the front number plate carrier we have to have in the UK.

Beautiful Car!! We bought the same color combo in an xkr had to fly to Wash DC to pick it up and drove it home to Acworth Ga. Since you may be new to this particular forum you must check out WhiteXKR's amazing remote top drop modification and you might want to check into the pressure relief valve also. No XK convertible owner should be without! Congrats!

A hearty congrats to you, Norri....

Since our 2006 XK8 has been in our stable now for less than ten days, we're essentially joining the club as XK8 virgins at the same time. Hope our XK8 ownership experiences will be as good as our S-Type ownership experiences have been....

Enjoy the car (but I have no idea how you survive the heat - I would be dead inside a week)....

Thanks guys,
I'm at the airport right now heading back to SC, so I'll answer some of your questions later.

Count, my wife has plans for me to be in Vegas for a wedding around that time so we may bump into the PBTW yet!
