Are the j shifter trims from the XJ and the XK interchangeable?

Default Are the j shifter trims from the XJ and the XK interchangeable?

I have an XK8 with the plastic J Gate surround. i love the wrapped leather look from the XJ and the parts look otherwise identical but have different part numbers. Has anyone ever tried to swap them with success?
