Default Jaguar xk8 computer problems, please help

Hi all
I have just joined this forum
I have owned a number of Jags very happily but am having major problems with a beautiful 97 xk8 I have recently purchased.
The car will default to limp home mode a couple of minutes after start up with yellow engine light and advice of reduced performance
I have scanned the engine and it comes up with the following codes:
P0351 ignition coil A primary /secondary ct
P0356 ignition coil F
P0357 ignition coil G
P1367 Manufacturer control
The major problem I face is that I live in a quite remote part of rural Australia.
I am happy to have an expert look at it but the company of my choice is 400 miles away in Melbourne
It seems unlikely that 3 coils would have failed at the same time
I am happy to purchase parts and install myself if I could be reasonably sure of purchasing the correct parts
Does anyone have any ideas or previous experience?
How are the coils identified with the letters A F G
Regards to all
Al

Hopefully you've misread 0355 as 0356 since that puts all faults on Bank 1(RH side engine sitting in the car)
and your 1367 is actually

Ignition monitoring circuit between splice and ECM: open circuit, short circuit to ground,
short circuit to B+ voltage
Ignition module / coils bank 1 ground circuit fault

so it looks like some wire tracing.
If you go to the HOW-TO section and download JTIS you will get the correct OBD codes for your car, wiring diagrams and much more.

It's unlikely but not unknown for three coils to fail at the same time. From the coil numbers you've quoted, it appears you may be using a generic lookup. The Jaguar DTC listing for the faults you have is:

Cylinder numbering on the early V8 is:

When a coil fault like this occurs, a quick check is to switch it with a known good one and see if the fault code changes to confirm or eliminate a faulty coil.

Aaah, right.
Note to self - look at MY.
Shame because a simple earth prob. would have explained the codes.
Ho hum.

Default problem continues but appreciate all advise

hi all thanks
please keep any info coming
i will be away for a few days but will have a big push to see if i can get something happening
i had a borrowed car trailer and was ready for the mammoth tow to Jagdaim (Jaguar specialist in Melbourne) only to find the car was an inch too wide for the trailer,
interestingly in 20 years of Jag ownership this is the only problem which has had me totally incapacitated and useless
thanks again all
i need all the help i can get

Have you looked to see if you have oil in the plug/coil canal?
