Default Knock sensor

Does anybody know if you can change a knock sensor on the xkr without removing the supercharger. If so how's it done? I've been quoted £550 for the job doing.

that's a 53 plate xkr.

Are you positive a knock sensor is bad? Do you have a code pointing you directly to it?

At that cost, I guess I would start by firming up the diagnostics...

Unfortunately yes. Restricted performance message, check engine light on and code P0332.

Not sure you could do this, but is it possible to swap the harnesses between the sensors? The idea is to check if code P0327 for the other sensor would show up.

Alternatively, can you disconnect the sensor and see if code P0333 shows up?

Trying to eliminate harness problems, and build a case for sensor replacement. I agree it is more likely the sensor at this point...

Well this morning I think I'll check to see if the problem has fixed itself and lo and behiold it has! Maybe something was abit wet after a vigerous wash?

Anyway no restricted performance error. I reset the engine light and all is OK -back to normal :-)

Thanks to all for your replies and help.

Could definitely be something wet. I had coolant seem in there when my thermostat tower was leaking (and again with the fitting that attaches to it) and
the knock sensors took quite a while to get back to normal.
