Looking to purchase XKR Coupe

Looking to purchase XKR Coupe
I am sorry to be posting this message in this section, but I seem to not be allowed to post in the for sale section yet. To make a long story short, I used to own a 2003 XKR convertible. I loved the car and later purchased a 2006 Aston Martin DB9 convertible, believing it would be sportier and likened to an XKR on steroids. The Aston feels so very large and bulky in comparison, and I would really like to find a mint XKR again. I didn't know if anyone on here knew of a good resource to find XKR's of this vintage (only interested in 2000-2006), or knew of one for sale. I want a coupe this time around, and ideally under 50k miles, the lower the better. I would love to find one with the BBS wheel option like my 03 had. Thank you so much, and I do apologize if this is not the correct section. I am not on here to spam or sell products, just looking to rejoin the world of XKR enthusiasts.

I think eBay and carguru may be your best bet. XKR coupes are a bit more challenging to find-- especially in the mileage range you want. I hope you like black.
I think the X100 is a more nimble car than the Aston DB7, certainly. I've driven the DB9 and the V8 Vantage, and I can see the appeal of the XKR over them-- a real personal decision.
Best!

Nice! I'm saving up to buy a 2007+ model xkr. Got my 02 from a lot here in CA

I appreciate it. My neighbors must think I'm crazy because I wash it every 2 days lol. Currently I have 116,719 miles. I bought it at 108k so I don't really go anywhere as you can tell. It's a lot of money I put into it, but I'm open to selling to the right person if that ever came about.

06db9ky,
Good luck. dsd's advice is good, and I'd add Autotrader. Just to give you an indication of difficult your search may be, I think fewer than 10% of all X100's imported into the U.S. were coupes.
The production numbers suggest you might be looking for the survivors of well under a 1000 coupes imported over the years you're interesting in.
It took me 2 years to find my 05 XKR coupe, so I know there are some out there to be had.
Here is one example from car guru:

That coupe looks gorgeous, but cargurus site says the vehicle has had frame damage. There is a green 2000 xkr with 43k miles on carguru that is perfect, but i am afraid something must be wrong with it given the price. Yes, I do realize how difficult this will be lol. I have a fellow that usually finds cars for me heading to the auto auctions in Palm Beach, etc this month to see if any exceptionally clean examples show.

I imagine this must be too good to be true? Thoughts? My car guy seemed apprehensive when I showed him the listing.

I would look for a well maintained XKR vs. one with low miles. A well maintained car that is driven on a regular basis in my opinion is a much better car. I own a 2001 XKR Coupe and was very difficult to locate. It took two years and I found one 3 hours away from me. I drive my car to the local Concours in my area and has consistently scored 99.8 points. Over the years I have had to replace the regular problem areas, ie, fuel pumps, water pumps, bushings including the cam chain tensioners. A low mileage car may not have these items replaced and sooner or later every XKR will need those items replaced. Contact me if you would like to learn more about my car.

I agree with John. Low miles are for collectors not drivers on these cars. At this age the hoses are all going south regardless of miles. Suspension work is probably a given on any of them. Also, transmission maintenance is probably a good idea.
Nothing jumps out as crazy on that green one. Ride height even looks good. Any car you choose will need sorting-- see my sob/horror story thread. These cars just are not worth a lot (blue book).

06db9ky,
Re the green 2000 XKR. IMHO I would look for 2003 and up, 4.2 engine, most reliability issues have been resolved, it has a 6 speed trans which is very smooth and makes the car feel much quicker to drive, over the 5 speed of earlier models.
I note the shift knob might not be OEM, and I'm not sure the single exhaust tail pipe is correct either.

I do wish you joy in the search! I spent months obsessed looking several times a day before I found my coupe. The one you want is probably out there but the search is likely to take considerable time and dedication. Before I found the one I bought I seriously considered a 2005 XKR in So Cal. It had caught my attention because it was advertised as BRG but turned out to be metallic. I could not accept that but in all other ways it was very appealing. Cherry with about 56K miles. Before I decided to look elsewhere it's price was down to $22K as I recall.
I eventually found mine in Portland, OR. Sadly still not BRG but I am happy. Since my purchase last fall I have continued to watch the ads for a friend but have not seen another '03+ coupe I'd want come up for sale and none in BRG except a rather dicey sounding one in Oklahoma.

I'm rather indifferent as to whether it is a 2000 up or 2003 up model. The only concern I have for the green coupe would be if it had been a flood car. The steering wheel looks a bit discolored. I do want a well maintained vehicle, but also would like to pay a premium for a low mileage if at all available. I have no doubt you spent many hours searching to find that perfect xkr coupe! Thank you guys again so much for all of your help and input.
