just had my xk8 out why the wether is so nice,gleeming as always inside and out,guy came up to me loved the car and ask me would I be willing to sell her,jokeing I said 10grand and its yours,reply was omg why so cheep is there something wrong with the car,not a thing I replied,he was willing to give me a depoz there and then as his wife loved it, its a 2001 xk8 in silver 54ooo miles, I just could not do it I just love the car to much as she runs and looks like a dream,please someone tell me I did the right thing as my wife says I should have snached is hand off as we say in the uk,guess I love the car more than the wife,DONT WE ALL lol.

 

Graham, you did the right thing. Personally I would have been a bit suspicious, but that is just me.

Pretend with the wife and love the car even more.

Mine's a '01 vert with all the usual problems sorted out (OK I still need top shock bushes) and new tires all around. I would turn down $10k USD or even GBP without a second thought.

Might get my interest up if it were $20k USD. High for an XK8 of this age, but closer to what it is worth to ME.

You made the right choice in my opinion. Assuming he was serious.

 

You done good. Not sure why your wife was mad...I bet if he offered 10K for her you would have said, "No" again. Don't respond to that!! ; )

Same here. I'm still getting to know mine after 6 months now, but am far too intrigued to let her go for anything less than twenty large.
