Manual top closure won't work - latch not aligned
I know there are many posts from owners who have had problems with there convertible tops not closing.
I have read those post and attempted the fix which is to release the valve for the hydro and then use allen wrench to manually raise and lower the top back into the clip.
This is not working for me, the manual adjustment along with me pushing up on the top only raises the top a few inches. The latch itself is on the wrong side of the hook. I would need to push up 2 or 3 more inches before I could manipulate the hook into a position where it would catch the latch when I lowered it back down.
So, what am I going to break if I put all of my weight into this to get the top up higher so the hook can be moved to the proper location where it will catch the latch.
Kind of surprised and disappointed that turning the allen wrench only moves the top slightly.
Sorry if my description here is poor. I will try to get pictures in the morning if that would help you to visualize the issue.
Thanks in advance for the help

You must open the petcock at the pump then you need to unlock the rams so the roof can go open. When opening the roof DO NOT FORCE IT! Forcing it will cause a misalignment of the roof. When the roof is open close the latch manually and then close the petcock at the pump. Verify that the pump tank is full then close the roof electrically.

Then I used the allen wrench, think I turned it clockwise to get it to let me lift up the top a bit, i saw the hook move but it did not move far enough to allow me move the hook into a position where it would catch the latch on the top.
Should I have been able to lift it further turning the allen wrench? The allen wrench only turned like half a turn. Once the petcock is open do I need to wait before turning the allen wrench?
I've seen many of your posts Gus and really appreciate you taking the time to help me

Thankso so much, does the forum allow me to "tip" you? If so, let me know your PayPal address and I will try to take care of you.
Figure you saved me at least $150 by not having the dealership do what you told me how to do myself.
I am truly grateful.
Thank you
