Default Mina Galleries vs. Adamesh

Hey all, looking for everyone's $.02 on products from Mina Galleries vs. Adamesh. Specifically, I'm looking at purchasing a mesh grille (upper and lower) for my 05. Both Mina and Adamesh offer the upper and lower (Pic below only shows upper for Adamesh).

Adamesh Lower: USD$153.00
Adamesh Upper: USD$248.00

Mina Lower: USD$175.00
Mina Upper: USD$225.00

So, they're basically the same price. So it comes down to quality, really. Does anyone have a personal experience with either of these products, or the companies in general? I've heard good things about both, but thought I'd pose the question anyway. Thanks!

Just put in a grille from Adamesh. Very pleased with the quality and the look.

I use both as they do sell a few different items. I can tell you if you call or email Chris at mina and ask his best price for members, he usually gives a discount and shipping is better for US customers. The mesh grilles are essentially the same. Chris is also interested in new product ideas if you're looking for something.
Adamesh has been great as well but I've not really received any discount.

Chris at mina even redesigned his existing bulge style vents for me to be functioning be re molding and adding mesh. I sent him a photo and in a few weeks I had my vents!

Adamesh are fine, Mina are good too....

Adamesh - we waited quite a while for the exhaust finisher for my sons X Type!

No personal expeience with Mina, but Chris seems like a great guy and has helped many members here.

Just for reference, Mina are Now FORUM SPONSORS too, so there may be a forum members discount ( mention JF when speaking to them ) and you'll be supporting a JF vendor.

Good luck whichever way you decide to go

Jim

I have not used Adamesh, but I HAVE purchased a few items from Mina and I have nothing but good things to say about Chris and Mina Gallery. Chris will definitely cut you a break on the price and they definitely offer quality products They are highly recommended by me.

Many many positive reviews on here and other sites.

I'd always at least give them a chance at my business and go from there....

And just my , but when I installed my Mina grille, I made sure to tape off and paint black anything that might show from behind the grille... the Mina grill in the pic you had looks great, but I think it looks better when you can't see all the stuff behind it.

Thanks for the input everyone! I was pleasantly surprised at all the replies overnight! I love this forum. Well, looks like I'll be giving Chris at Mina a call.. I'll let you know how it goes. And Blindside, that's a good idea. What kind of paint did you use? Philhef, I'll probably mention your name if you don't mind, since it seems like you've been working personally with him a lot lately.

I have not used Mina but I use Geoff at Adamesh all the time, not so much for grilles as I often make my own but I have no issues, the biggest problem is the shopping costs, sure you can get the VAT taken off but sending stuff to the other side of the pond is not cheap, I have this problem all the time...... Whatever your choice I am sure you will be happy

I must say, Chris is fast with his email. Offered them both to me for $325 shipped, which is about $100 off list if you factor in shipping costs. Very happy, and ordering them today! Unfortunately, since the Jag is all wrapped up for winter still (which doesn't want to leave in Chicago), it will be at least a month, maybe longer, before I'm able to tackle installing them . I'll be sure to update y'all when I do get them on though.

I just used a regular old can of flat black Rustoleum and it hid everything really well...

No problem. He might charge you more!! Lol I bug him a lot but he's made some good money off me and I don't regret a penny.
Geoff at adamesh has been helpful too for things I can't find for my XF.

Good choice, I bought a mesh grill for both my X-Type and XKR from Mina and after 3 and 2 years respectively, I am still very happy. I have bought from both Mina and Adamesh and both produce superior products.

Yes both companies appear to make good products for sure.....

Having spoken with both companies I can only comment as follows....

Chris at Mina seems to be both more readily available to contact and is also more willing to "deal" with customers in reagrds to price.
There definitely seems to be some "come & go" as well as offering good service and a forum sponsor supporting the forum to boot.

Having tried to contact Adamesh several times I have had difficulty, they tend to be more intransigent on price as well, as far as I can see.

The lower mesh grille that Peter ordered in fact came from Lockwoods as it tended to be better priced, arrived quickly and fitted extremely well.
Lockwood International as it happens will be a forum sponsor too shortly, offering a selection of grilles as well as dial fascias for many types of vehicles

Having ordered the exhaust finisher tail pipe for the diesel from Adamesh, the delivery time was poor especially considering we are in the same country and not exactly the opposite end of the world.
