Mina Mesh Grille Installation 1999 XK8

I have read several threads on installing a mesh grille. Most are several years old and talk about a 3 piece mesh grille. Another was well documented but included removal of the bumper, which this Mina Mesh Grille states is not required.
Unfortunately the instructions that came with the grille are vague and offer no photos of where the application of screws, removal of center chrome strip and bumpers.
I am not the smartest kid on the block and can not understand these instructions without a picture or diagram of some type.
Anyone know where a DIY installation guide might be online? Mina had not answered my request for more information.
Any assistance would be most appreciated.

This might help you. A post when I replaced the overriders on my 2001 XK8.

After several years of thinking and shopping for the right grille / scoop solution, I decided to go simple and old-school. Removed the plastic bits altogether, removed the bumper bar and had it sanded / painted / clear-coated to match the Dorchester Grey trim, and put it all back together. I'm very pleased with how it turned out.

Finally got it done, took about an hour once I figured out all the plastic pieces were pop riveted instead of screwed or bolted on. Had to just take a deep breath and break the pop rivets.

Happy with the results.

David,

I just put a Mina grill in my 2002 XK8 last week and was going to tell you about the pop rivets but just got home. Unfortunately, in Colorado you have to have a front plate and I didn't like the drilling of the front bumper so I taped into the front bumper guards to mount the grill and the plate. I also used one of the other members suggestion of using the springs from Ace and that worked well on the ends. Wish I didn't have the plate so I could have made it a little cleaner. Yours looks great......

Snowing outside so I took this picture with a flash and it didn't turn out very well.

Bstreet, the coupe, thanks guys, both cars look very good. I agree that the front plate ruins the look somewhat.

Just purchased a 2003 XK8 and wanted the original XKR look mesh leaving the bumper bars in place, but didn't want to pay $600 plus for the part. Happened on this company customcargrills.com - Custom Car and Truck Grills - Mesh Grill Sheets and More!. Great videos on DIY and have purchased the mesh, rubber trim and attachment to make it myself. Will post pics when complete.

Good plan - I look forward to seeing the process and results.
