Thumbs up More conversion ideas - tail lights, fogs, headlamps and body

I don't mind the Adamesh rear light conversion, looks better than the Arden effort

LEDs look good

It is why I did the front light thing

XKracer, where did you get those? I've never seen them before. Looks interesting. As far as the rears, I like them but they would look sooo much better moulded in. I don't like the gaps.

Everyone who has fitted them say they look OE which is good as far as a modification is concerned.

Take a look here http://www.paragondesignuk.com/lightring.htm

Very easy to wire up as either coming on with your normal lights or as DRLs

Not what I would call cheap but extremely well made.

Getting back to your rear lights, why don't you blend them? I went a slightly different route fitting LED rear lights to the XK below, I used XF rear lights, it was a lot of work but very effective

Interesting website.. Wish someone would make an Aston Martin DB7 body kit for our cars, intead of bumpers here and there. They have the same basic structure... There is a vanquish kit, but its sooo bad.. Now, a DB7 one...Hmmmmm

Maybe I'm just old fashioned and too Southern for all this California ricer business about modifying the XKR or XK8 but I would consider changing those amber side lights to clear if I could find the parts. That I suppose is the only thing I'd consider to be a visual improvement over stock on my '03.

Links to parts dealers that have this?

Oh, and if there's a simple, safe and effective way to improve the rear back up lights that's something else I'd do as long as it was not an add on component.

MY XKR is well modified..................and there is nothing remotely "California" nor "Ricer" about it. Opinions differ, and all should be respected.................

Opinions are like *** holes,we all have one.
Can I say that here without being told to read the sign up details?
If not,or you are offended please simply ask a mod to remove this.
Great mod's on the car I might add!Glad to see that we are able to do "something" to stand out from the rest.Other then paste a big FORD emblem on the sides.Did I just say that
I hate it when I drive and see my very same car pass me.The Jaguar that I now own was the Jaguar dealerships managers special order car, so so far I have not seen one of its color or wheel combo.Sure that I will now..

What is this letter, number crap that seems to show up now below???
Guess that i hit the wrong something somehow

My apologies Brian. Sometimes I forget myself. Of course your car in no way resembles a ricer. I think I was moved to over state the case by the fellow that suggested the look of an XKR might be improved by attaching an Aston Martin kit of some sort. In any case congratulations on a job well done.

Those XF lights look amazing! They are similar to the Aston Martin style, but all Jaguar, which I like. I love Aston Martins, but I don't want people to get the impression I'm trying to pass a Jag off as one. I hate the lower valance on that car though. The only problem I have is the trunklid to light gap looks odd. Perhaps if the lid covered the edge of the light a little since it seems the angle of the edge of the light makes things difficult.

There is a reason for that gap.....Here in the UK it is law to have a working fog light and that is what will fill the gap either side of the boot lid. This will be something I am going to make up with an LED string built into a plastic unit and covered with red prismatic glass, once that is done it will look fine.
I do try to keep all my conversion as Jaguar-esque as I can, the lower bumper or valance as you called it is from the X150 style pack, and I do also like Astons but would never consider doing a XK based replica but I am all for taking styling cues hence the picture below.

Thanks for the info XKRacer. Your car looks very sharp. I can't wait to see what the fog light solution turns out like.

Maybe one of the mods can split our little tangent off of this thread as I'd love to keep up on the progress.

Now that is one sinister looking Jag! They could call it "The Ninja"!

Looking thru your album you just created, they are all very tasteful, not overdone to the 'cheesy' side. Modification in Moderation...should be your motto.
