Default My first paint choice has an interesting twist, but much happier with final color!

While I was looking at possibly moving up to a 2002 Aston Martin Martin I found that there was a limited edition called the Keswick Limited Edition 2002 Vantage and it was painted Nero Daytona Black! From the factory.
If anyone followed my constant battle on the color for my 2002 XK8, Nero Daytona Black, a Ferrari color, was actually my final choice, even purchased the paint and partially sprayed n front fenders, until I found my black walnut metallic!
Just found that ironic that our cars kissing cousin actually came in my paint choice!
Btw, anyone want a gallon of Ferrari Nero Daytona Black Metallic? It's a great color, but I wanted a brown!

Gets even more interesting. The interior was specially designed with a brushed stainless fascia instead of the traditional wood!! Too ironic!! And I've NEVER seen this before! I may leave my brushed titanium wrap now! My first paint choice has an interesting twist, but much happier with final color!-image.jpg

I suspect most of us here prefer wood over metal interior trim. My only interest in Aston would be for better handling, but adding LSD and other improvements to any XKR is way cheaper than an Aston DB7. Whatever excites you and fits in the budget rules though...

Not so sure about that. When I posted my wrap dash project, I had a lot of good comments, especially when I added the piano black and chrome detail. I think everyone is just so used to the wood that its difficult to see anything else. I'm not a fan of the older faded veneer especially when it's more in the gold/yellow tones. I see my car as more of an exotic sports car look so I prefer a cleaner fascia (my fav is piano black and if I find one, I'm swapping!). Some see it more as a grand tourer ie the wood! Its all good! That being said, I like the saloons with a more luxurious wood interior. Even Jaguar is going more for all metal fascias in the xk ans f type.
As for e Aston, I've found several nice ones under 30k. But frankly, it looks so much like our XK8, and I've put so much time in mine, I always opt out and keep my Jaguar!! I actually feel like a traitor!! Lol.
