I was having some issues with my stereo so I decided to figure out how to modernize it without looking bad. I made a faceplate out of wood and moved the hazard/fog light panel to the glove compartment.

The location of the screen is a bit inconvenient? Eyes needs to move focus quiet a bit from the road and I guess you have to lean a bit forward to touch the screen?
well done, I like the setup of the upgrade- wondering if one could find a dash piece from the glove box area on e-bay or from a breaker and cut/trim that for the stereo surround

Yes, it is an Android head unit. At 7 inches the selection of high-end was a bit limited. I got a Teyes CC2.
The location is not ideal, if you wanted a different design you could move the air vents and dials and put an even larger one in the middle, but that has other challenges and changes the look of the interior. I have mine set to go dark after 30 seconds so I only look at it when using it. Also, it maps to the steering wheel controls so I can do the volume or any other commands you map to buttons.
