Default Navigation lights And Screen Not Coming On

Hey I own a jaguar xk8 2001 coupe fitted with navigation

As some of you already know I am restoring a xk8 coupe for daily driving and for fun. I've had the radio ad nav disconnected for a while modifying the xk8 (stationary) till the new seals come for the rear main seal to take it to my local mechanic.

I finally received a good nav unit in the mail and tried to plug it in to test and the lights nor screen came on. The connection worked only 2 weeks ago, so I tried the old one which I knew worked just had a bad screen, same thing no lights or screen. Checked the boot fuse and the facia fuse, both good. Is this because the radio must be connected or could it be that the module needs a reset? Just need clarification before I put the radio back in. ( I took it out for some interior upgrades, light bulb changes and radio bezel reinforcement with epoxy)

Update, nav relays on radio. Without the radio it will not power on. So to anyone else who sees this yes your radio has to be plugged in
