I am looking for any tips or tricks to squeeze more ponies from a 2001 XK8. I have already uncorked the exhaust for 15 ponies, cutout the bellows in the intake system and replaced with industrial hose for 2 ponies, and a K&N filter for 3 ponies. This engine is capable of so much more, so any suggestions are appreciated. I know it is not an XKR but it still can be faster than what it is.

Install a supercharged engine, change the ecm, the transmission and the wiring harnesses and you should get an extra hundred horses for around $20k. Or trade it for XKR. Or you could look here: http://www.arden.de/aade/zubehoer_ue...63230333d34696

 

That's odd...I was going to suggest that he pony up the money for an XKR too. Sorry tv, there isn't much available or possible to hurry your hooves.

 

i know a guy who is doing just that.. turning his xk into a xkr has.. all the parts.. told about the harness and he was not happy.. lol.. and the mass airflow sensor and he wasnt happy.. and that the driveshaft may be different he was'nt happy.. and that he need both ecm and tcm he wasnt happy.. but he is still gonna try it.. lol and he is gtting it all done at a **** hole garage.. lol

 

I don't undertsand why anybody would go through all that trouble. Like the others said, just trade it in on an XKR.
