Angry Need some help

My 2002 XK8 has been super reliable but...last night I ran some errands, went into a store for a few minutes, came out and the engine cranked fine, ran very rough and died after about 3 seconds. Repeated this several times with same result. Check engine light stayed on but no other error or gauge readings that were abnormal. towed it home, next morning it cranks fine but won't fire at all. Check engine light code is P1111 Air meter problem. I know P1111 is normal but having the check engine light on is not. Any ideas would be very appreciated.

First thing that comes to mind is fuel pump. Check the pressure at the Schrader valve. No codes on fuel system.

There is no fuel at the Schrader valve. Fuel pump fuse is not blown but there is no supply voltage at the fuel pump fuse measuring from the plugged in fuse to the battery ground terminal and the ignition key on.

Without the engine running the ECM only operates the pump relay for 2-3 seconds when the start position is initiated but the FP fuse should have voltage.

Swap the fuel pump relay with another in the trunk fuse box. The XK8 only uses Fuel Pump 1. All the square brown ones are the same. If that doesn't get the pump running verify that you have B+ at the appropriate socket. The schematic is on the side of the relay. If you have B+ verify that the key start position operates the relay for 2-3 seconds. If not, jump the B+ to the pump side of the socket with a paper clip.

All that fails you need a new pump.
