Default Need to stop soft top midway for repairs

Need a bit of advice. Going to replace center window seals on rag top so I need to stop the opening movement at half way point for access. I worry about screwing up the sequence or timing of things being aware of convertible tops quirkiness . Is there anything special I need to do? As always, I look forward to hearing your suggestions and knowledge.

I did it last month. No issues on my 2003. Be quick as it doesn't like to stand at half mast.

That's what I worry about. Should I somehow chock it open?

Yes, you can support it.

Don't chock it open, like sticking something in the framework. Just support it with a broomstick from within the interior, or you can tie it off from the rear end, to keep it from folding into the top up position,

If it does go out of sync, open the manual override pump valve and manually open the top the rest of the way. This is the reset position. Then close the pump valve. Now try try to close the top. It should work again.

Completed the mission successfully. Had to hand grab and support the top a couple a times but always made sure to continue movement with the proper switch direction activation so it all stayed in sync. Thanks to all.
