Default Newbie, 2000XK8 asking am I in the right forum?

I just finished reading the new guy messages, and posted my greetings to all. In those readings, I was sure I saw that the XK8/XKR forum was split into separate year groups (I think it said 1996-2003 and 2003-up). This location seems to cover all. Am I in the right place?

Welcome.

That's right, the whole run of the X100 is covered here. The 4.0 and 4.2 XK8s have more in common than different so we just lump them all together.

Right car and right place.

Check your Intro thread. I've put some advice there to help you find your way around.

Hi Sam, and welcome to the forum.
Just wondering how far 'North of Atlanta' you are? There are at least a couple of us that live up in the Ellijay/Blairsville area, and wouldn't mind meeting up with any new XK owners if you are anywhere near.

Guys,
I'm actually in the Kennesaw/Powder Springs area. I know where the Ellijay/Blairsville area is, however, I stay pretty much close to home. Thanks for welcoming me - this forum is very friendly and will be invaluable as I "work" this great car.

Welcome to the forum!

You are in the correct group for your 2000.

2006 (in the UK, 2007 in the US) was the differentiating year for a complete redesign to an aluminum bodied car. That is why there are two groups.

My eldest son lives in Kennesaw. Might get the chance to meet up with you some time. I will keep my eyes open for any XK8s when I am down there!

Welcome to the forum, Sam. Try to make it to the British Car Fayre in Norcross this weekend. If you are interested in joining the North Georgia Jag Club PM me for details. You may need to have 10 posts to use the PM, I don't recall the rules.
