Default Nice To Have Another. Don't Sell It!

Had a '99 XK8 silver w black, low miles, mint condition. Didn't drive it a lot but enjoyed it when I did. Owned it for three years.
Combination of fear of timing chain / nikasil issues (of which I had none) and guilt of having too many toys (had just bought another motorcycle) I sold the car two years ago.
Until It was gone I did not realize how much I loved it. I truly grieved for that car. I had bought the car in Chicago and made a road trip home with it, after I sold it I couldn't even see Chicago Bears highlights without missing that car.
After two years I figured enough is enough and bought another. Found a showroom condition '06, Pacific Blue / Ivory interior. Sure is nice to have another. This one I will keep.
Moral to the story: If you have an XK8 or R and you like it, if at all possible DON'T SELL IT, you might regret it.

I agree if I did not buy the XKR I definetly would keep my XK8. My 2001 XK8 is the same color combination as your 2006.

Found a bit of extra storage, so I'm not going to sell mine either.

The only car which would tempt me away from my XKR is an Aston Martin DB9, but these are currently about 3-4 times the price of a similar age/spec Jag, so I can't justify the swap.

I have to admit, a DB9 would probably ring the bell for me as well but is beyond my budget.

Check out a Maserati GranTurismo!
Far better looking than a DB9

I checked out the Maserati. What a beautiful car.
When I was looking for my present XK8 I flew to West Palm Beach to look at an XKR that was at the Jaguar / Aston Martin dealer. Spent some time looking through the showroom. Those cars are incredible but for some reason I'm not in love with the interior styling of the Aston Martins. I think the XK8/R's are much nicer inside than the DB7's when comparing apples to apples. Just my opinion, I guess I'm more a retro kind of guy. (Old)

Same here. Nothing beats the interior on the XK8/R.
