Me: I have a 1997 Jaguar XK8 with an electrical problem. Can you help me?

Me: Hello? Hello?
Ok, here's my story: My OBD2 port cannot completely communicate with my scanner. The scanner powers up and I can get some information but unable to read or clear codes. I've come to the conclusion that the connection is weak (too lose)
on a couple of pins on the port. Here's my question: Does anyone know which pin extractor to use on the connection? I don't want to fiddle with each available tool fearing I will make it worse.
I am having a similar but worse issue. I have power to the OBD2 connector but zero ECU communication through it. I have just tightened all of my OBD2 port pins with zero change. If you need to tighten the pins, I suggest that you maneuver the OBD2 port up from the metal bracket and out through the side of the dash where the cover is removed. This way you can easily work with the port as necessary.
Let me know if you need help to access the pins as it took me a few hours of head scratching to work it out!
Thank you for the reply! I've taken the connector out from under the dash for easier access but not sure how to clean any corrosion or to "tighten" the pin receptacle or remove the pin from the connector. No mechanic will see me if the port is not working.
