Default Oil Cooler Hose Mismatch?

Hi Guys,

OK, I've bought and returned two front left oil cooler hoses because the fitting at the cooler wasn't "Clocked" correctly and it twisted the hose badly. These were bought from a very reputable supplier who only used actual Jag parts (and I've been told that those hoses have been recalled by supplier).

After doing some research I am really confused. Before my engine (4.2 SC), the SC and NA engines had the same oil cooler hoses. Now, as of '03, the two engines has different hoses "listed", but they look identical and I can't figure why there would be Two different hoses.

Does anyone know what the difference is? Being as the C2N1172 which is listed for my car didn't fit, does anyone know if the MJE7470AB (which is meant for the NA engine) WILL fit? I don't care if its "performance" is different - I don't abuse my car - all I care about is if it will fit.

Thanks folks. Hope you're doing great.

The hose is #2 in the diagram

Did you get around to figuring this out? I replaced these lines on my XK8 with Jaguar parts, and all of them were the MJE74* parts. I still have the old ones and I can provide pictures if it helps...
