oil stain on steering wheel
After new tires where put on , I have since discovered dark oil stains on my leather steering wheel. Obviously done by the tire shop. I'm not going back there, as I already have done battle about the tires there. Any suggestions on removal of the oil stains?
I would start with a Dawn dishwashing soap solution and a couple of old cotton washcloths. That and a healthy portion of your own elbow grease may be all you need to do to get the stains out. Once they're gone, I would treat the leather with your leather-care product of choice. I use Lexol. It's relatively inexpensive and has worked for me for many years....
Dawn is pretty good and I also use Gliptone leather cleaner. A little water and a nail brush works very well.
I don't care for the smell of the leather conditioner but the cleaner is great stuff.

Gliptone Leather Cleaner is very effective but their Liquid leather Conditioner has the unappealing smell of wet cardboard!
