Old Topic Trans Fluid
Hi All,
Been doing a LOT of reading about the correct transmission fluid for our XK8 ZF transmissions. The more I read the more I put different tid-bits together. Then I decided to go to the good old Auto Zone web site and discovered that they sell Lucas multi-vehicle transmission fluid that meets the ESSO requirements and has one of the highest flashpoint ratings of all at 421* F. It is only 7.99 a qt.
I will try some this weekend, knock on wood.

I think everyone has come to the conclusion that antifreeze coolant and ATF threads are way over analyzed. The OCD amongst us is still claiming you can only use OEM original, but most of us have already used one of the universal application type fluids without any dire consequences. IMO as long as the compatibility issues are addressed, brand names are not an issue. Good luck with the project.
