I assume you are trying to discuss a 'low coolant' notice on the instrument panel. The sensor does fail but the first probability is that the reservoir is actually leaking.
While I would suggest actually fixing the problem, removing the wire connector from the reservoir sensor and jumping the wires will remove the alarm message from the panel.

jumping the sensor is just begging for trouble...now you've got no way of knowing if your engine is overheating due to low coolant until its too late...the gauge will not move from 'middle' until the temp reaches a dangerous point, then it siezes, all before a single light comes on.
Either repair the sensor (I don't think it is available separately as a new part) or buy a new expansion tank for just under $200 that has a new sensor built-in. Its very easy to change.
