Default P0121 code

I drove from Ct to South Florida, I washed the car and was headed to my final destination when the car went into limp home mode and all sorts of system inop warnings came on. Shut her off and started back up and everything was ok for another couple of miles then same thing. Managed to get where I was going and checked for codes.
P0121 throttle body position sensor.
I know this is fairly common, but what is thought to be the best solution?
Repair, exchange the TB or is possible to just replace the sensor?
Thanks in advance!
Jack

I would first remove, clean and reinstall each electrical connector on the throttle body. Since the problem occurred right after a washing it is probably a loose corroded connection.
I made the mistake of running thru a car wash for convenience. It took 2 days before the car ran right again.
After you clean all of the connectors clear the code and take it for a spin.

Probably a smart thing to do before spending to much money, the last six miles I drove it, actually no more problems. A little hair raising though driving in S Florida and having it drop down to limp home mode in the traffic here.
