Default Parking brake light - RESOLVED

the parking brake light will not go out on the dash. Pretty sure I've mastered the procedure for releasing the brake. Is it possibly a switch somewhere, or something in the actual brake mechanism that's stuck or whatever? thanks

If you are releasing the parking brake correctly, it is likely to be a sticking/faulty Handbrake Switch (item 3):

another weird issue resolved. somehow a small piece of metal got wedged between the brake handle and the switch and that did not allow the circuit to close and the light stayed on. all fixed now. it was not the switch
