Default Part number for expansion tank pipe

In the process of reinstalling the plastic pipe that connects the expansion tank to the coolant pipe where the thermostat is I managed to break one of the ends.

I'd like to order a replacement but the image in JEPC isn't quite correct for an XKR.

Does someone know if it's #16 (MJA4560DB) or #7 (C2N1809)?

The plastic hose going from the expansion tank to the thermostat housing is definitely the bleed hose. See attached 1st image for part info for 2003 XKR. My info shows it as C2N001809, close to your part number but with some extra zeros.

Further research shows an online part match for your C2N1809 part number (see 2nd image). Hope this helps.

Early vehicles had two Bleed Hoses. The second bleed to the Radiator was soon deleted leaving only the one to the Thermostat Housing. This is why the second Expansion Tank outlet is a blank.

It's nearly three years since I purchased a Bleed Hose. The P/N was MJA4560BE then:

I'll bet the cost in the US is a lot higher.

Graham:

The part number shown on your invoice is correct for an XK8. But Charlie was asking about a 2003 XKR. I think the C2N1809 part number is correct for the bleed hose for his car.

Brad,

You're absolutely correct about the P/N for the XKR.

I was concentrating on the explanation for the second Bleed Hose (item 16) shown in Parts Catalogue diagrams.

Thanks guys.

I've run across a few cases where the diagrams in the parts catalog aren't correct but I knew I could appeal to the panel of experts.
