Pirelli P Zeros still the best choice for 17" 1998 XK8 summer tire?
I've read about lots of other tire choices but when it comes to finding summer tires in the original size (245/50 ZR 17 99Y) and with plenty of lateral grip the Pirelli's keep popping up. In fact, I can't find other summer tires in this size. Each time I research a different tire, it is either an all-season tire (which I don't need) or it is available only in a different size.
Does anyone think there is a better summer tire out there that is available in the right tire size?
Lots of windy roads here on Maui, so lateral grip in response to spirited, active cornering is a good thing
Also, as the Jag is rear wheel drive, I'm guessing that it takes directional in the front (for dry grip) and asymmetrical in the rear (for wet grip) ... or am I over-thinking this? The vehicle care book simpy states "Asimmetrico."

Tire Rack has the Bridgestone Potenza REO50 this is a run flat tire summer tire. My car came with the Pirelli's P Zero's 20" The performance wasn't what I expected, I noticed a big difference when I went to Michelins Pilot Sports. You probably need somebody who's run these Bridgestones to chime in.
