Default Po304-Po1316, etc repaired

Hi Guys. Maintenance, maintenance, maintenance. I've owned my Cat little over a year. Doing many repairs updates, peace of mind repairs.
Latest item working on; running warmer with temp fluctuations out of range.
At same time, # 4 misfire code, along with P1316 out of emission range as well as P0300 various misfire. Never felt a misfire. most times after a 20 mile drive reduced performance. At times check engine light came on.
I have a Scan Gauge ( love it) to help clear codes, keep track to isolate problem.
Reading older post from you folks I did shot gun approach. Replaced # 4 coil, replace plugs, ( looked fine but were Autolite) switched coil with another, took fuel pressure reading at rail, checked ping on injectors and finally, as someone suggested it could be a fuel problem, replace the FUEL FILTER.
Car fixed. No check engine light, no reduced performance, no codes after extended road tests. By the way, I cut open the fuel filter. DIRTY...

Everyone do not run to the stores for fuel filters all at once. they may run out. Hope this may help someone. thanks again guys for your help.

I changed the fuel filter on my wife's 2006 XK8 at the 90,000-mile service I did earlier this year. The fuel inside the filter was indeed dirty, a very murky grey color. Lesson learned....

My car has a similar problem but I just replaced the fuel filter about 700 miles ago as preventative maintenance so for me the problem is elsewhere. The old one was not that bad after cutting it open.
